Effective immediately, the Boil Water Notice for all City of Seabrook water customers has been rescinded. Water customers no longer need to boil water used for drinking, cooking and making ice. Water quality testing submitted to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has confirmed that Seabrook tap water meets all regulatory standards and is safe to drink.

On February 16, 2021, the City of Seabrook issued a boil water notice after receiving notice that both the City of Houston and the City of Pasadena issued a boil water notice. All water providers, including the City of Seabrook, has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by the public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

Customer Recommendations:
All water customers should flush your home water lines for a couple of minutes to ensure your pipes are delivering fresh water. It is also recommended to clean your faucet screens.

Customers will want to flush their water heaters, built-in water filtration systems and water softeners (consult the manuals for your units).
Any lines connected to water and ice in your refrigerator should also be flushed by running that water and dumping the first round or two of ice. Ice-maker equipment and containers should be cleaned, and fridge water filters swapped out.
We also recommend running the hottest — or “sanitize” — cycles on your dishwashers and washing machines to help clean them.
Seabrook tap water is now safe for consumption.
