Recycling Program Resumes Normal Service

Untitled Document

Our recycling program is back in action as of today! See below for a message from Waste Management regarding the recycling program:

Waste Management has been working aggressively in its efforts to collect household garbage following the devastation resulting from Harvey. because of the high volume of garbage, limited resources, and limited access in some areas, Waste Management had elected to suspend residential recycling collection. Today, we are pleased to announce the residential recycling has resumed in your area on your normal collection day. Please keep the following in mind when you recycle:

  • NO FOOD WASTE OR LIQUIDS
  • NO PLASTIC WRAPS OR BAGS
  • NO FOAM PRODUCTS
  • Do not mix recyclables with regular waste and/or storm debris.
  • All containers and paper must be dry and free of food debris.
  • Paper food containers must be rinsed out.
  • Tissues, paper towels, and other paper that has been in contact with food or cleaning supplies is not acceptable.
  • Keep medical waste (syringes and needles) out of the recycling container.
