Promotion of Seabrook Police Officer to Sergeant

Sergeant Jason Smith

The Seabrook Police Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Officer Jason Smith to the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Smith currently has twenty years of service with the SPD beginning his career in 1999. As with most new officers, Sergeant Smith started in patrol, including shifts with the bike and marine divisions and later became the department’s D.A.R.E Officer with CCISD. Upon his promotion, he commented, “I have enjoyed making a career with the Seabrook Police Department.”

Most recently Sergeant Smith served as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer (CVE). The city of Seabrook has a high amount of commercial vehicle traffic with State Highway 146 being a major corridor for the region. As a CVE Officer, Sergeant Smith worked to ensure all commercial vehicles were in compliance with local, state and federal laws. In addition, he proactively reached out to trucking companies to help educate drivers on what they needed to do to stay in compliance with the law.

In addition to Sergeant Smith’s promotion, three Seabrook Police Officers just completed their first year of service; Officer Ingress Berrios, Officer Alejandra Hernandez and Officer Daniel Kirby. Sergeant Smith alongside his fellow officers actively serves the Seabrook community with the primary goal of creating a Safe and Secure City.
