Consider and take all appropriate action on the request for a Master Sign Plan for the property located at 2000-2100 Highway 146 (Miramar Shopping Center).
Director of Community Development, Sean Landis explained to the board that this is the second request made by the property owner for approval of a Master Sign Plan. The Planning & Zoning Commission approved the first request at their October 17, 2019 meeting, but City Council denied the first request stating that the replacement signage being requested was too large (31 feet) and should be designed more as a monument sign as required within the current sign ordinance. Per code, the maximum height for a monument sign should be no more than 12 feet. The proposed Master Sign Plan request is for a 22 feet monument sign for the Miramar Shopping Center location.
The Planning and Zoning Commission approved the Master Sign Plan request for the property located at 2000-2100 Highway 146 (Miramar Shopping Center) and the motion was carried unanimously.
