Racers will set off from in front of Galveston's Pleasure Pier Oct. 10th for the trip to Port Aransas. The Harvest Moon Regatta® has been hosted by Lakewood Yacht Club every year since 1987. The offshore race begins in Galveston and ends with a party in Port Aransas. Whether you are new to offshore sailing or are a seasoned cruiser or a serious racer, Harvest Moon has something for you.
Regatta proceeds benefit Bay Access Sailing Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that promotes youth and adult amateur sailing on Galveston Bay and Clear Lake through:
- On the water sailing instruction and training
- Organization and promotion of regattas
- Boating classes and on the water sailing instruction
- Boat Rentals
- Environmental awareness and education
- Scholarships for youth sailing camps

Please join us for a Birding Seminar on Thursday, October 10th from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. The topic will be "Identifying Hawks and other winter birds" and will discuss migratory birds that fly across the Gulf of Mexic and land in our area on their way to their nesting grounds, given by the Houston Audubon.
