The Seabrook Police Department exists to serve the citizens and visitors of Seabrook community with respect, fairness and compassion. The Seabrook Police Department is dedicated to the prevention of crime, the protection of life and property, the maintenance of law and order, the enforcement of laws and ordinances and upholding the constitutional rights of those within the Seabrook jurisdiction. 

The Seabrook PD helps the city maintain a high quality of life by working with neighborhoods and other organized groups of residents. The department is also responsible for animal control and emergency, police and fire, radio
dispatch functions in the city limits, as well as maintaining
the recruiting,training, crime victim and support functions
necessary to maintain a police force of the highest quality.

Chief of Police 
Sean Wright Chief of PoliceSean Wright has been with the Seabrook police department for 23 years and was appointed Chief of Police in May 2014. He started his career assigned to patrol.  He was a field training officer for the patrol division.  He was then assigned as the community policing officer, where his duties were primarily community outreach and crime prevention.  His role allowed him to establish partnerships between the Seabrook police department and Seabrook businesses and organizations.  He coordinated juvenile community service, Project S.A.V.E.D., and from 1996 to 1999 the “Wednesday in the Park”, a community sponsored youth event held in the summer at Meador Park.  While assigned to community policing he conducted home inspections, participated in crime prevention programs and presentations, including neighborhood watch and established a Citizen’s Police Academy for the Seabrook Police Department.   He was an instructor at the University of Houston-Downtown police academy as well as the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office training academy as a police instructor.

In 1999 Sean was promoted to patrol sergeant where he was the supervisor for the evening shift.  In 2004 he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.  He was the administrative lieutenant which included command over the detective division.  In 2011 he was promoted to the rank of Captain where he is second in command for the department reporting directly to the Chief of Police.   Wright also served as the department’s public information officer.    

Chief Sean Wright has a Master Peace Officer Certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.  He holds a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University and a Juris Doctor degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.  Chief Wright is also a licensed attorney in the state of Texas.
