NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE SEABROOK CRIME CONTROL & PREVENTION DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS WILL MEET ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 19, 2023 AT 6:00 PM IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A MEETING OF THE SEABROOK CITY COUNCIL IN THE CITY HALL CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 1700 1ST STREET, SEABROOK, TEXAS, TO DISCUSS, CONSIDER, AND IF APPROPRIATE, TAKE ACTION WITH RESPECT TO THE ITEMS LISTED BELOW.

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 2023 AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2024 FOR THE CITY OF SEABROOK; APPROPRIATING FUNDS; AND NOTING A PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2023 IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY’S CHARTER AND WITH STATE LAW.
9.4 Consider and take all appropriate action on first and final reading of proposed Ordinance 2023-27 "Tax Ordinance", levying the ad valorem property tax of the City of Seabrook on all taxable property within the corporate limits of the city on January 1, 2023, and adopting a tax rate of $0.457755 per $100 of valuation for 2023; providing revenues for payment of current municipal maintenance and operation expenses and for payment of interest and principal on outstanding debt. AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND LEVYING MUNICIPAL AD VALOREM TAXES FOR THE CITY OF SEABROOK, TEXAS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2024 AND DIRECTING THE ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION THEREOF.
Four separate motions are required:
1) "I move to approve a tax rate of $35.2187 cents per $100 valuation of assessed property for operations and maintenance";
2) "I move to approve a tax rate of $10.5568 cents per $100 valuation of assessed property for the interest and sinking fund";
3) "I move that the property tax rate be increased with the adoption of a tax rate of $0.457755, which is effectively a 1.58 percent increase in the tax rate."
4) "I move to approve Proposed Ordinance 2023-27, "Tax Ordinance" on first and final reading with the reading of the caption serving as the reading of the ordinance and requiring a record vote".
9.5 Consider and take all appropriate action on approval of a ten year easement renewal contract between the City of Seabrook and General Land Office (GLO) for the City's sanitary sewer lines crossing Mud Bayou, effective from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2033.
