SVFD Offers Assistance with ITC Fire

SVFD at ITC

On Sunday, March 17th the Intercontinental Terminal Company experienced an emergency at their complex on Independence Parkway in Deer Park.  The Seabrook Volunteer Fire Department was requested through our agreement with Channel Industries Mutual Aid (CIMA). CIMA is a non-profit organization whose members include industrial companies, municipalities and government agencies who work cooperatively in four geographic response zones. Seabrook VFD is a member of CIMA’s Zone 4.

Our initial response included Ray Cook who is currently a CIMA Specialist representing Seabrook VFD. Ray Cook served as a member of the Unified Incident Management Team.

Our response included members of our command staff, firefighters, Engine 9, and support vehicles. Members of our department assisted alongside other agencies in helping to bring this incident under control. Our assistance included providing manpower, helping to provide water to other apparatus on scene, as well as providing logistical support.

The following members were those that were able to respond:

  • Fire Chief Andrew Gutacker
  • Assistant Fire Chief Andrew Castiglione
  • Station Captain Allen Williams
  • Station Captain Theo Presswood
  • Chauffeur Marshall Foote
  • Lieutenant Tanner Maughan
  • Firefighter Jimmy Hart
  • Firefighter Courtney Spretz
  • Firefighter Brennan Malone.
