FY2021-2022 Proposed Annual Budget
City Manager, Gayle Cook, presented the proposed FY2021-2022 Annual Budget to City Council and stated that a more in-depth review and discussion on the proposed budget would take place at the budget workshop on July 28.
Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Sponsorship
By unanimous vote, the City Council approved the revised application process and funding for the City’s Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Sponsorship program, to alleviate some of the hurdles both staff and event organizers were having with the previously approved procedures. Event Organizers will be required to give a Post Event Report to the City Council within 60 days of the end of their event, to provide information on HOT funds expenditures.
Mutual Aid Agreement with NASA Johnson Space Center
The City Council unanimously approved the renewal of a mutual aid agreement, for a five-year term, between NASA Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center and the City of Seabrook for the housing of emergency vehicles before landfall of a major storm.
Harris County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Action Plan
The City Council received a brief update from Brad Goudie, Director of Emergency Services, on the Harris County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Action Plan, which is required annually by the federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.
FY2021-2022 Strategic Plan
Gayle Cook, City Manager, gave an update on the FY2020-2021 City of Seabrook Strategic Plan to City Council and presented the FY 2021-2022 City of Seabrook Strategic Plan for Council’s comments.
City Manager Update
Gayle Cook, City Manager, gave Council updates on the SH 146 Expansion Project, City of Seabrook CIP Projects, City of Seabrook Grant Administration, and COVID-related issues.
FUTURE MEETING DATES
Special Budget Workshop Sessions will be held on July 28 and July 29, 2021 at 6:00p.m.
The next regular City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 6:00pm.
