[ARCHIVED] Post Storm Evening Update

Hurricane Nicholas - Post Storm Update

The City of Seabrook continues to assess storm damage and clean-up debris from Hurricane Nicholas.

Here are a few reminders from city staff:

  • Waste Management resumed trash service on a delayed schedule therefore crews are running behind and doing their best to pick up trash carts.
  • CenterPoint Energy is actively working to restore power to the entire region. Due to the ongoing system assessment of damage estimated restoration times on the Outage Tracker and Power Alert Service are not being provided at this time.
  • If your home or business sustained flood or wind damage please report it to the City of Seabrook by completing the online form at www.seabrooktx.gov/storm-damage.
  • The City of Seabrook is still assessing the amount of storm debris that resulted from the storm. We will notify residents should storm debris removal assistance be provided.
  • The City’s wastewater services were not impacted by the storm. Public Works crews did a great job of monitoring and maintaining these services throughout the night.
  • The Pine Gully Fishing Pier suffered significant damage and will be closed for the foreseeable future. The City of Seabrook will work with FEMA to rebuild the pier.
  • All city facilities will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
  • Please be aware that natural disasters create opportunities for fraud and that scammers will use phone, text, email and even go door to door to target residents affected by damaging storms. The FCC provides useful information on identifying these types of scams.

This will be the final daily report from the City of Seabrook. We will continue to update www.seabrooktx.gov/nicholas with recovery information as it is made available. We will also continue to post to social media as necessary.
