[ARCHIVED] SPD Welcomes New Officer

Seabrook Police Department Welcomes Probationary Officer Miguel Garcia

The Seabrook Police Department proudly welcomes Officer Miguel Garcia, who graduated from the Basic Peace Officer Academy at Alvin Community College on Monday, July 7, 2025. Sponsored by the City of Seabrook, Officer Garcia completed approximately six months of intensive classroom and practical training designed to prepare cadets for a career in law enforcement.

With his successful graduation, Officer Garcia has earned the title of Probationary Police Officer (PPO) and now begins the next phase of his journey — the department’s Field Training Program. This program pairs PPOs with experienced Field Training Officers (FTOs) to provide structured, on-the-job instruction in real-world policing situations. The field training phase, which lasts approximately three and a half months, is a critical step in preparing new officers for independent service.

Upon successful completion of field training, Officer Garcia will enter a formal probationary period. During this time, he will continue to be evaluated on his performance, decision-making, and readiness to serve the community as a fully certified peace officer.

Chief Rolf Nelson and the entire department commend Officer Garcia for his commitment to public service and congratulate him on reaching this important milestone. The City of Seabrook looks forward to his continued growth and contributions as he begins his career in law enforcement.
