The City of Seabrook Economic Development Corporation (EDC) proudly supports local businesses by offering Groundbreaking and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremonies. These events provide an excellent opportunity to promote your business and connect with the Seabrook community, ensuring your milestone receives the recognition it deserves.

Schedule Your Ceremony

Planning your Groundbreaking or Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony is simple:

  • Advance Notice: Ceremonies must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance.
  • Available Days: Monday through Thursday.
  • Preferred Times: Ceremonies are typically held between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., but we are happy to work with you on a time that best fits your schedule.

Partnerships with the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce

If you’re a member of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, you may be eligible for a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony. The City of Seabrook partners with the chamber to maximize your event’s visibility and impact. Contact the City of Seabrook and the chamber to coordinate your joint event.

City Involvement

The City of Seabrook will invite the Mayor, City Council, and the Seabrook Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors to your event.

Social Media Exposure

City staff will capture photographs of your ceremony and share them on Seabrook’s social media platforms within 2 business days. We encourage you to provide a business profile or press release to accompany the photos and maximize your exposure.

Logistics and Event Flow

Here’s what to expect during your ceremony:

  • City Representative: The Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, or another City Council member will represent Seabrook at your event.
  • Official Proclamation: A proclamation will be presented and read before the ribbon cutting or groundbreaking.
  • Business Spotlight: You’ll have the opportunity to say a few words about your business and why you chose Seabrook.

Cutting the Ribbon/Breaking Ground:

  • The City will provide all necessary materials, including ribbon, scissors, and/or shovels.
  • Professional photos and videos of your ceremony will be taken by city staff and shared with you for personal use.

Optional Additions:

  • Light refreshments for your guests (optional).
  • Business tours and networking opportunities following the ceremony.
